I am a fully trained Relate Relationship Counsellor. I am a skilled and compassionate listener.
My counselling approaches are primarily psychodynamic which helps to increase self awareness and your understanding of how the past has influenced your present thoughts and behaviours. I also use the systemic theory which focuses not only on you as an individual, but also as a person in relationships, dealing with interaction patterns and dynamics.
I also use CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) for a wide variety of problems, including depression and anxiety.
Therapeutic Process
Often people who seek help through counselling are often unclear about what may be involved.
I offer a confidential, respectful, safe and non-judgemental space for clients to come and explore their problems.
The first appointment will be a more in-depth assessment where we talk over the issues that have brought you to counselling and ways that will enable you to move forward.
Ethics
This Counselling Service complies with the Ethical Framework of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), respecting you as a person and honouring your trust. For details of their policies and procedures, see www.bacp.co.uk.

On a personal note
Living in Mid Wales I have everything I need in the form of mountains and coast but I also enjoy travelling and experiencing different cultures. I love spending time on long walks with my family, friends and dogs. I relax with a cup of tea and a good book in front of my log burner. Some of my favourite things are blueberries, avocados, dogs, trees and slate!
